We have ignition!!

Although i've had the bike running, it was 'hot wired', my mate came around the other day to sort some of the wiring so now it turns on/off using the key. Only a minor thing really but a bit of a milestone Very Happy

I've also made the gear linkage,

and made the exhaust using a stinger i bought off Laurie. I'd been working on Lauries pipe for a good few hours before i got it right where i wanted it Shocked

The electrics are all sorted now and my new indicators arrived from china, they were 99p! They're now £9.99 so i think they made a mistake in the listing Wink
I've made a pair of side panels and made the rear light and indicator bracket. I've got a funny feeling the indicators have to be a certain distance apart for the mot so i may neeed to re work the rears.

She's nearly ready for the Mot, i just need to get some rear shocks Smile

Rach's new car

Post  till on Sun Apr 07, 2013 8:11 pm

We've been looking for a Golf for Rachel and bought Harry's Mk3 Gti 16v.

It wouldn't idle properly at first but i changed the Idle control valve and that seems to have sorted the problem, i've also fitted the Coil overs and a few other bits and pieces that came with the car and my boss set the geometry. The ride height is a little bit high but it's Rachel's car at the end of the day so it has to be comfortable for her.

I'll probably drop the back a bit but i do like a bit of 'rake'

I haven't posted any pics of the cafe racer project for a while so here's a pic of how it looks now.

And one of my latest purchase

A friend was looking for somewhere to store his wife's car so her nan said she can store it in her garage if they cleared it out first. He opened the door and found this and two others! They were her Grandads and apparently every time one stopped working he bought another!
It's a 79 Honda c70 and hasn't been used since 1984! He phoned me straight away the Bastard!

I changed the plug, cleaned the carb and put some fresh fuel and away she went!
