1990 Golf GTi
Up for sale is my sister Lou's 1990 8V 5dr sunroof Big Bumper Golf Gti in Atlas Grey
A little bit of history first. I picked this car up in September 2009 and used her as a daily while my Ghia was being restored. She'd been laid up for 18 months, but a handful of bulbs, a couple of CV gaitors, battery, a wheel bearing and some fuel lines later she was MOT'd and ready for business.
After a new clutch was fitted, I raced her during the 2010 season and took 4 event wins at Big Bang, Spring Speed, Bug Jam & Open Sport Nationals.
In June 2010 she was handed over to Lou and in the October needed a new rear silencer for the MOT.
Lou used her as a daily, and brought her out for Big Bang 2011 where she reached the Semi-Final and Bug Jam that year where she qualified 3rd.
This car ran 17.2 - 17.3 consistently over 8 rounds and was a fantastic bracket car.
After Bug Jam she continued to be used as a daily driver. Lou replaced the front doors as the driver's door was scabby and the passenger door was dented.
Last month however, she started to get a bit lumpy and we suspect the headgasket is to blame. Unfortunately Lou has no cash to invest in this car so it needs to be sold.
This is a standard, unmolested original car, no modified suspension or wheels. As such she would make a cheap and easy fixer-upper or a solid basis for a restoration
Lou's looking for £350, give her a call on 07554 428913 or 01202 660156
Car is located in Poole, Dorset and will need to be towed/trailered away.
