Mine and Sams VW's
Sam and I currently own a few VW's...
'Bob' the splitscreen van is the only one on the road at the moment though.
The rest are in need of a little care and attention (some more than others).
This is how Bob looks now -
Then there is Rosie. She needs a bit of work for the MOT but hopefully be back on the road early next year -
Then there is George. He was found in a bush and had been there since 1996. Still unsure what to do with him...
Then there is the late bay project. We started this then decided to buy Bob so this got put on hold. Hopefully will be started up again when Rosie is on the road again... it is actually a little further on than this. It has a new front end!
Then there is the first VW I ever owned, over 10 years ago now probably more like 12... I have no up to date photos of its current state but here it is poking its head out the garage.
Dont tell anyone but I might be buying a 67 Beetle off some dude up the road. Can you believe that my mum told me about it!
Thanks for everybodys help and support with the projects so far. You guys rule!

Re: Mine and Sams VW's
right,
bought beetle number 4 today but it pains me to say, this one is going to vw heaven... If the guy i bought it off ever sees this then i am truly sorry!
Basically got it for the IRS and to sell the spares (well some of them anyway).
Heres a few pics for prosperity sake.
If anybody wants anything off her just give me a shout.
It really did hurt knowing i was stripping it and was never going to re-build it...

Don't worry too much, it's a 1303.
If it was gold i would be doing a little jig of celebration right now.

Re: Mine and Sams VW's
A few updated pictures of 'Bob'... only some minor changes.
But they are such good pictures.
These are from the woods at the weekend... cheers Jo for the photography.
This is from the photoshoot weekend...
Still got to destroy more of the 1303 so we can get the IRS sorted out, and build our own dropped spindles for the front end, then hopefully i can put off the spine replacement.
cheers

Re: Mine and Sams VW's
Right as a few of you are aware... somehow or another we seem to have got another vw.
First off we would like to thank Stuart (duddubz) for letting us in on this little gem.
Secondly, my parents. They are amazing. I dont know how they put up with me. We now store 5 full vehicles on their premesis. they are legendary!
Its a 1956 Oval Beetle, right hand drive. its awesome.
its pretty much my (ben) dream beetle. I have always wanted an old bug but never had the guts or the money to do it. to be honest i still dont think i have either but maybe stupidity took over a bit and a bit of a nudge from Sam!! ha ha!
so there you have it. we now have 8 V5 documents. Paperwork coming out of our asses.
pictures - to be fair it does not look all that but i love it!
Once again, my parents have been amazing and very forgiving!! My dad strapping her down - ooohh err
We are incredibly out of our depth with this and no doubt have no idea what we are in for so any advice, hints, tips or anything will be gratefully received.

Re: Mine and Sams VW's
Hi Ben
Look as good and original as you discribed. Interior look's really sweet.
Glad you got it all sorted in the end, you did look a bit stressed in the pub on friday night.
Would be glad to help should you need any advice although i have to say it a lot earlier than anything i've ever owned.

Re: Mine and Sams VW's
Looks REALLY nice
it must of had a new interior thats too clean
The only fault i can see is it needs to be as low as the one in the background
