Hi everybody!
Deano and I were talking at the meet the other night and thought it would be a good idea to start a list of shows people are going to... so to start off I know Sam and I are going to -

Elemental - http://www.elementalvw.org.uk/
Its on the 14th april and you can camp over the night before. I really enjoyed last year but got a bit drunk... note to self, dont drink own body weight of whiskey.

Big Bang - http://www.big-bang.co.uk/index.htm
This has got to be done... its the 27th to the 29th April... Mike, are you going to try and book a club stand again?

VW Jamboree (cornwall)
I hope to go to this but there are no details as yet... its cool though, in cornwall, so surf during the day and party at night...

If you want to add camping trips on here then go for it but it might get a bit crowded (once people come out of hibernation), so i might make a seperate camping trip one once i know where and when sam and my first camping trip will be.

anyway... feel free to add...

Was thinking about doing this myself.

i think i'll be doing both of the above, was thinking about Action South West which ties in with the Jogle run (John O'Groats to Lands End, 1,000 miles on 50cc motorbikes!) which i believe Ade (Till) is doing and offering myself as support but it clashes with elemental and leaning towards elemental.

Also thinking about taking my Notch to Ninove in March but not sure on this one yet.

I'll add a few more when i've got more time as my bed is calling me right now.

Hi

I thought i would add a couple of links to some show calenders

This is a euro site but has most of the Uk shows + the euro show, there's also a pic galleries of most of the shows.
http://www.vwshows.com/shows.php?year=2012

This is the VZi shows section which a lot of you will already know about, it has all the Santa pod show (including some non VW) + most of the UK shows.

I am intending to do Stanford hall this year
http://www.lwvwoc.co.uk/StanfordHall/documents/Informationpacka52011.pdf
IMO this is one of the best single days VW show there is, its has the best concours and the one of the biggest trade areas of any show i've been too (excluding vanfest), there are also a lot of club and single type displays.
Although its only a one day show there is camping available on site, but this is in a completely separate field away from the show. Last year i stayed in the local ibis and there are plenty of other cheap hotels in the area.

I would also like to do Spa in Belgium on August 11th-12th (normally extend this for a day before and after at a local camp site)
http://www.vwbugshow.be/
This one of the best shows i've ever been to, there's normally a lap of the circuit on the Saturday afternoon with about 3000 cars all taking to the circuit at once. The camping at the circuit is quite basic and quite rowdy but many visitors stay in local hotels or other local camp sites. The circuit it's self and the show are closed in the evenings with separate evening entertainment just out side the circuit similar to the setup if you have camped at a UK race circuit for a full weekend race meeting.

Not sure what shows i'll be doing this year, probably more of the local ones but I'm doing the Jogle so if you're there Rob i might ponce a lift home! Very Happy .
I might be going over to Belfast for Dubshed end of March to meet a potential customer who we (work) will hopefully be making products for.
I think Big Bang is a must.

To be honest i very much doubt i'll be there, it was a bit of a long shot really and having read all the info and threads on VZI it looks like all the plans are in place. Also i've just booked a ski holiday for next week so i'm not sure i could afford to do another week away in April both in terms of holiday days and money.

What are your plans then? are you still in need of a support crew or is Danny supporting you?

How are you and your bike getting from home to Scotland and getting back from Cornwall to home?
I could make myself available if you really need someone but i see the real issue as the cost of fuel for a support vehicle which for a round trip of over 2000 miles will be approximately £500. Brian and the other organizers have been able to keep most of the other costs down but fuel is really out of there control.

If is just you need to move have you thought about the train? There's some goods deals to be had if you book in advance unfortunately most are mid week but its normally cheaper than fuel costs if your travelling on your own even with a normal off peak ticket.

Danny is in my 'group' for Jogle but i'm not sure how i'm getting there yet? There was talk off drop off points for your Ped which will be loaded onto HGVs and taken up there but not sure if this is happening now? ?

I might courier it up to Wick airport then fly in and pick it up then ride up to J O.

I thought if you were at Action South West i'd blag a lift home with you. I'll probably auction the Ped off at the show and give the money to Brad's or leave it somewhere with the log book and keys with a For Free sign on it!!

Hi Ade

I don't think i will go to Action South West just for the show but if your suck for help or a driver for Jogle i might be able to help.

I guess couriering the bike and flying could work but would still work out fairly expensive, i assume you use a pallet service at work so have pallet rates already, ours is £38 for mainland UK but wick will be a fair bit more.

Have you spoken to anyone else doing Jogle who is travelling up from this area? I guess Danny is the best person to speak to as he knows everyone.
