anyone know any engine rebuilders?
anyone know anyone who rebuilds engines on a low cost?
i have a 1600 half stripped in my garage which i want to get up and running and keep my 1500 as a spare. and have a 1776 or 1641. to power the van.
i have a low budget but was hoping someone knew a local person as i have not got the time to rebuld myself otherwise id give it a go.
no rush as i am happy with current engine just would be nice to have better motorway speed ect.
or does anyone know of any for sale?
may be just as cheap to buy one in better nick. as mine was siezed
cheers

Why don't you ask Rob Fish or Buggy Darren? Both would be willing to build the engine up for you for the right price I'm sure!

You want to rebuild the 1600 into a 1776?
Do you know what seized on the 1600? If it was a bearing the chances are the case is shot, they normally jump off the dowel pin due to excess case ware then spin and block the oil way which causes the bearing to seize on the crank.
A basic freshen up of a good engine will be about £150 in parts (i.e only bearing, gaskets and exhaust valves) + any other bits that are in need to changing. 1600 piston barrel set is about £160.
